Baptist Health School offers variety in the medicine field

Health Schools Little Rock (BHSLR) offers a great variety of programs. They offer the largest Registered Nursing and the largest Practical Nursing programs in Arkansas. But you may not know about your Allied Health programs in the laboratory, imaging, therapy, surgical technology, or sleep technology. One of your institutional goals is to offer “something for everyone” interested in a healthcare career.

Each program, offers educational opportunities in the classroom, clinical experiences, networking with top professionals in the field, and small class sizes to maximize learning. Currently, we are accepting students for the Surgical Technology program twice a year for a one year program, giving them the opportunity to work as part of the surgical team preparing supplies and equipment during the operative procedure. Upon graduation, students are qualified to work in the operating room as a surgical team member.

Sleep Technology is a one year program focuses on the diagnosis and treatment of sleep disorders, while operating a variety of electronic monitoring devices and providing direct patient care. Imaging offers Nuclear Medicine Technology (NMT) and Radiography. Radiography is a two year program training students to perform diagnostic X-ray examinations. NMT offers a unique opportunity for the post graduate, with only a one year program to gain your certificate and not only utilize your degree to the fullest, but have a specially trained field in imaging using radioactive pharmaceuticals for diagnosing and treating various diseases.

Therapy is a great field for an individual looking to work directly with patients using great care and compassion. We are proud to offer Occupational Therapy Assistant (OTA). While working with clients with physical, mental, and developmental disabilities, students earn their associates degree in partnership with Pulaski Tech College after only two years. Histotechnology is a one year program preparing tissue for microscopic study with a Pathologist. Medical Technology offers a post graduate student with a background in science who are interested in working in a clinical laboratory the opportunity to use their degree to the fullest.
