“EL GRITO” of Independence of Mexico celebrated in Little Rock

LITTLE ROCK, AR – On Sunday, September 14, Little Rock celebrated the Day of the Independence of Mexico in Little Rock at the River Market Amphitheatre.


The honorable Andrés Ciao, Mexican Consul in Arkansas send "El Grito” (the Shout). “El Grito” is considered the beginning in the celebration of the Independence of Mexico, which is celebrated on Sept 16.


The event was completely free to the community and offered and organized by the Consulate of Mexico in Arkansas.Consul Chao celebrated the beginning of the Day of Independence shouting, "Viva Mexico."


Attendees enjoyed a Mariachi Band and DJ “La Sombra.”


Many participated as proud sponsors offering and distributing thousands of soft drinks, water, ice cream, and ice completely free. Among the sponsors was, ¡Hola! Arkansas, LINN’s Auto who offererd free hot dogs and hamburgers, Mountain Valley, Blue Bell, Reddy Ice, Party Gras, Twin City Bank, New Age Distributing, Nationwide, P&G, Walmart, Karinas Restaurant. Several business and Mexican restaurants also offered their products free of charge.


The celebration was attended by thousands of Mexicans, community, their families and friends.
