Little Rock Zoo celebrates 2nd Annual ‘Dia de los Muertos’

LITTLE ROCK, AR - - BOO AT THE ZOO, Arkansas' largest Halloween festival is back! BOO AT THE ZOO runs October 24 through October 31 from 6 p.m. to 9 p.m. each night at the Little Rock Zoo.

One of the most exciting highlights will be the celebration of the 2nd Annual ‘Dia de los Muertos at the BOO AT THE ZOO” on Friday, October 26 presented by ¡Hola! Arkansas with the support of the Mexican Consulate in Little Rock.

“We are very excited to share again the ‘Dia de los Muertos’ celebration with the children of Arkansas. We’ll have a well decorated altar and we’ll passing candy and Blue Bell ice cream to everyone that visit our stage, the largest at BOO AT THE ZOO. We’ll have live music with DJ Rodolfo “La Sombra Puente, and “El Suavecito” plus the entertainment of the “Laurita Castillo Ballet” Friday, October 26 from 6 p.m. to 9 p.m., said Maura Lozano-Yancy, publisher of ¡Hola! Arkansas.

Guests will enjoy trick-or-treating in a safe environment, fair-style rides, concessions, a haunted house, haunted train, fun house, carnival games, zoo vampire bats, and the beauty Shop of Horrors!

Boo also offers special carnival rides just for kids as well as rides for adults and families.

“Kids and adults of all ages are encouraged to come to Boo in costume. Each night of Boo there will be a special costume contest with prizes for each contestant and grand prizes for winners in three different age categories. And if all the rides, food, adventures, and costumes weren't enough, Boo also offers special Creatures of the Night Creature Features at the Civitan Amphitheatre. Learn all about animals of the night from our Zoo docents while you meet some very interesting live animals!,” said Zetta Friday, Boo Coordinator.

Admission to BOO AT THE ZOO is $5 per person for non-members and $4 per person for members. Tickets may be purchased in advance for $4 at any central Arkansas

Metropolitan Bank location or at the Zoo Safari Trader Gift Shop.

Admission price includes treat tickets. All proceeds from BOO AT THE ZOO benefit the Little Rock Zoo.
