The ceremony began at 11:00 am with the presentation of the Ballet Folklorico “Herencia de Mexico” (Heritage of Mexico), who entertained with traditional Mexican dances. The event was attended by Alvin Lopez, "Papa Rap" representing the school district, Katheryn Birkhead, representative of the Plaza Comunitaria in Springdale, and Pastor Eddy Cantu from the Christian Hispanic Center whom spoke about the importance of preparedness in adults, in order to encourage young people to finish their studies.
Titular Consul David Preciado said that "The Plazas Comunitarias is a way of understanding that transcends the relations between governments and allows societies to meet and to build new bonds". At the same time, he reiterated the support and accompaniment of the federal government for our community in Arkansas and outlined the importance of opening more of these educational centers, to achieve a greater benefit for all.
