Arkansas Children's Hospital announced its plans to build a hospital in Springdale. According to sources, land for the hospital was donated by George's Inc., a poultry company in Springdale.
The new hospital will be a satellite, total different of the Little Rock hospital in every respect, particularly some of the most sophisticated treatment. It includes the same level of heart surgery and neurosurgery undertaken at Children's in Little Rock.
Arkansas Children's Hospital in Little Rock said it could release plans for providing service in northwest Arkansas soon, told Rob Steele, the hospital's senior vice president and chief strategy officer. But he added that ACH has been in talks with community members and doctors for the last four months to determine what the "community wants and needs are."
"We feel very confident that the needs for children's care are greater than what we are currently providing," Steel said. "We've been working through that, but we aren't at a place now to discuss what that solution might really look like."
ACH already operates a clinic in Lowell but it is in the process of opening a Northwest Arkansas hospital that including several sources and doctors.
“We envision a future in which all children in Arkansas have convenient access to pediatric expertise,” marks the Arkansas Children’s Hospital, (ACH) Lowell Clinic.
