LITTLE ROCK, AR - On Monday April 2 David Manuel Preciado Juarez officially joined the Consulate of Mexico in Little Rock, as its new Consul. Preciado Juarez is the second official with this title in Arkansas. His predecessor, Consul Andres Chao Ebergenyi was transferred to Colorado.
The new Consul arrival coincides with the fifth anniversary of the opening of the Consulate of Mexico in Little Rock on April 27, 2007.
¡Hola! Arkansas had the opportunity to meet the new consul in his office in an informal visit shared by another consulate officer, Edgardo Briones the Consul Adjunt, who since August 2011 has been in charge of the consulate as a deputy consul.
Consul Preciado Juarez reiterated its message to the community, in his own words he said, "the consulate of Mexico and its officers should be involved with the Mexican community in Arkansas, participating and serve as its ears serving their needs. I do not want us to be perceived as an entity that only performs official procedures."
Consul Preciado said he wants to join the community as another Mexican.
With his arrival, Edgardo Briones moved to his original duties as the Mexican Deputy Consul and will be responsible for the legal branch of the consulate.
Both officials want to be an active part of the Mexican, Latino and Arkansas community, participating in events and activities that require the representation of the Mexican government.
Preciado has a Ph.D. in Government and Public Administration from the Instituto Universitario de Investigación Ortega y Gasset, attached to the Universidad Complutense de Madrid and has a Masters in Political Action and Citizenship in the rule of law at the Universities Rey Juan Carlos, Francisco de Vitoria and Bar Association of
