Sporting KC launches new high-performance centre.

Kansas City, Kansas- The day finally arrived. February 6th will be remembered as a historical day for everyone on the Sporting KC squad. It is the first time the players got to train as a team at the new National Training Center. This new national training center is the new home for Sporting KC.

This facility is known as pinnacle and it was a plan that cost about $75 million dollars to put in place. This beautiful facility offers the newest technology and machines that will enhance all players abilities as well as quicken rehabilitation for the players. The new home of Sporting KC also has 5 authentic soccer fields and has a beautiful gymnasium in which there is a basketball court, pools, locker rooms and a great dining area for the players and staff. On this same day we got a chance to catch up with coach Peter Vermes.

You can tell in his voice that he is excited for the new season. The players seem to be holding up a great attitude and are putting in the work to make this season an important one we're the words that Peter gave us. He mentioned that he's happy with his current squad but also said that there is a chance that sporting may add 2 more players to the squad. He didn't mention any potential players or positions he's looking for but he did assure we will see at least one more signing.

Sporting KC recently added a great player that Vermes sees as a strong fit. Felipe Gutierrez, a member of the Chilean national team, has the potential to make a strong impact on the team this season. Sporting KC has one more practice this week at Pinnacle before taking off to Arizona to finish up their Pre-season training. Kansas City anxiously awaits the return of the regular season on March 4th when Sporting hosts New York City FC.
