Tonight's match saw two teams who are in contention to be first place in the conference. Sporting KC played a great game where they were superior to FC Dallas throughout the 90 minutes. The game ended in a 2-0 win for Sporting KC and given the result we can expect the fans to keep coming and hopefully keep selling out matches. It would be the Chilean Diego Rubio who in the 42' minute put Sporting up 1-0. Sporting continued to bring it to FC Dallas and it wouldn't be until stoppage time at the 91st minute when Gerson Fernandes would net one in for Sporting and seal the match. At the moment Sporting KC is 1st place of the Western conference and is awaiting results from Seattle Sounders and Houston Dynamo who are also able to join Sporting KC for first place. Sporting will now be going on a 3 game away game stretch, there first away game will be Saturday August 26th vs Houston Dynamo. This game is crucial as it could determine which team can flee away and take that 1st place for good. Up next, Sporting KC will play on the road against Houston Dynamo next Saturday at 8pm.
