Latinos urged to reduce historical health disparity

Just one month before the end of the sign-up period in the health insurance market for 2015, U.S. Department of Health and Human Services Secretary Sylvia Burwell, urged Latinos to register and thus reduce the health “disparity” that historically has faced the group.

HanesBrands to expand in Clarksville, add 120 jobs

HanesBrands of Winston-Salem, North Carolina, announced that it will expand its manufacturing facility in Clarksville, AR investing about $1.5 million in additional machinery at the facility, relocating and upgrading its packaging and dyeing operations and adding 120 new jobs.

The move will bring the publicly traded clothing manufacturer’s total employment in Clarksville to 570. The company said the 120 new jobs will average about $39,000 per year in wages and benefits, which would add $4.7 million per year to the local economy.
