USCIS extends eligibility for employment authorization for H-4 dependent spouses

On May 26, 2015, U.S. Citizenship and Immigration Services (USCIS) began accepting applications for employment authorization from certain H-4 spouses of H-1B temporary work visa holders. Also, for now at least, the U.S. District Court for the District of Columbia has pushed aside a challenge to the H-4 employment rule by denying a motion for preliminary junction based on allegations that USCIS violated the Administrative Procedures Act.

College graduates searching for jobs in Arkansas don’t have the easiest time, according to a new report that takes an in-depth look at online job postings across the nation.

A new study finds that 4.3 million Americans with full-time jobs had an anxiety disorder in the past year. That number represents 3.7 percent of full-time workers aged 18 and older, according to the U.S. Substance Abuse and Mental Health Services Administration (SAMHSA). Illness can be debilitating, but treatment is available so workers can stay productive, experts say.

Court denies request to lift hold on executive actions

The 5th Circuit Court of Appeals refused to lift a Texas judge’s injunction that put on hold immigration deferrals of deportations and work permits for millions of immigrants undocumented in the U.S.

The programs were made possible through executive action ordered by President Barack Obama. The appeals court ruled 2-1 against the administration Tuesday, May 26th. The decision arises from a lawsuit filed by 26 states opposing the programs, known by their acronyms DACA and DAPA.
