The conclusion of 4-week summer camp program intended to give identified English Language Learners additional time to develop their language proficiency, was celebrated Thursday, July 10 at Williams Magnet Elementary School.
English Language Learners, Kindergarten through grade 5, showcased the language and vocabulary they have learned at Camp Can Do this summer. Nearly 250 students have been on an imaginary camping trip visiting wonderful places and deepening their linguistic understanding. The students’ participants interpreted their learning through dance, music, art, Spanish, technology, physical education, science and storytelling. Camp Can Do Campers walk away with:
The significant growth in the four language components: listening, speaking, reading, and writing. The increased in English Language usage.
